“I would say that, fifteen years later, none of the details I thought were so important really matter. What I remember are the moments that we couldn’t have planned for - riding to the ceremony with my cousins, all of us laughing and taking selfies. Watching my Grandpa dance at the reception for the first time in his laughing. Laughing with my husband and dancing to the YMCA even though we were very clear with the DJ that we did NOT want that song played. I would say to be present enough to soak in those unexpected moments and let the details go.”
