Design Museum Copenhagen: also i dream of the chair room in this museum + whole thing can be done intentionally / slowly within an hour or so! really worth fitting in. FWIW I think I said "even the MUSEUM is so beautifully designed" like ten thousand times which IS a stupid thought but man was i floored lol

Democratic Coffee - Copenhagen: Specialty coffee in Krystalgade. I had granola here, and it was quite possibly the best granola I’ve ever had in my life.

Helenekilde Badehotel Is Coastal Bliss Near Copenhagen: I am such a proponent of spending half a trip in the city and the other half countryside. Rent a car in Copenhagen city-center. Drive 45-minutes to the Coast. Stay at Helenekilde Badehotel, a walk from Tisvilde shops. Then, spend the day visiting fishing towns and croissant-hunting in hamlets on the beach.

Copenhagen / København HOTEL SKT. ANNÆ: You fly in, take the sub, get out at Kongens Nytorv and walk over. Rooms are small, but linens are crips, the bathrooms are nice and when you stay just for a night you might up end up w/ a room that faces the (interior) light shaft of the restaurant. You will be amazed by it. Also, there is one of these almost-open-all night shops on the next corner, where you can fill up w/ licorice and some. AND ... next morning's search for breakfast ... is the hidden gem of the hotel's roof terrace. And that is the reason why you will stay there.

folkehuset absalon: every city needs an absalon! this place is one part cafe, one part community center, 100% amazing. they have all sorts of events, but my favorite thing is their nightly meals that you can buy tickets to in advance and then when you arrive you’re seated at long tables interspersed with strangers who quickly become friends. the food was good and the company was even better!

Orsa Coffee (CPH): This place ROCKS. Good coffee, cute atmosphere, and really delicious yogurt/overnight oat bowls with seasonal toppings (this rhubarb compote was everythinggg).

Hart Bageri (CPH): The cardamom bun that haunts my dreams. I have also had decent luck recreating them. Buy frozen croissants, cut them up, toss with cardamom sugar, pile in a muffin tin, and bake!

Meyers Bageri - østerbro: One of the bakers who started Meyers Bageri started the original “Noma” or Nordic food movement. There are a few locations, but I loved this one hidden in the neighborhood which is quiet and close to lots of the second locations of many popular stores in the city center - Pico, Ganni, etc. It’s a quick walk to another great coffee spot, Dallas, as well.

The classic cinnamon and cardamom bun are must haves but the sleeper is the tebirke.

Other Copenhagen Recs:: Reffen food market - Global cuisine in a street market comprised of former shipping containers. Also a short walk from Mikkeller for drinks.

Juno the Bakery, Andersen Bakery, Buka Bakery are all great for pastries. IMO if you're trying to save a bit on $, we started going to bakeries for lunches and it was better than trying to find a sit down spot for lunch.

Studio Kitchen, Atelier September are both great for breakfast.Prolog Coffee was great, also just around the corner from Juno the Bakery.

+1 to all the recs for the Louisiana Museum of Art (also, their restaurant is incredible, highly reccommend!) 
We also loved Design Museum Danmark, Rosenborg Castle + Christainborgs Palace. Double check the places you want to visit aren't under construction - we planned so far out in advance that we didn't realize some spots were closed when we went, like the Botanical Gardens were slightly closed off.

Kod has a three course dinner that was wonderful!

Aurora Ismejeri had fantastic ice cream, got a flavor that brought me back to the push pops of my childhood.

Studio Arhoj has super cute ceramics for shopping. 
The thrift scene + clothing shopping in general is great around Copenhagen, there's also a ton of ceramics and glass shopping. Prep your suitcase for whichever you think you'll take home more of!

Tivoli Gardens had the best museum gift shop imo. So many of them had good options but I loved Tivoli's the most. Make a reservation for their restaurant ahead of time if you want to try a Michelin star experience and plan to visit.

Nyhaven is fun for the views but the food is very tourist trap-y. If you don't go to Reffen, there's a food market even closer to Nyhaven that's also great!

Lastly - Rhubarb is a super popular flavor in Denmark, as it's one of the first things available in the spring/summer. You can find a lot of rhubarb cocktails, treats, juices, etc (at least when I went, we were there in July. I loved the rhubarb popcorn at Tivoli and our hotel had a great cocktail.

Luisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark: You can ride your bike up the coast here from Copenhagen! (You start by bringing your bike on a short train ride) The museum is one of my favorites in the world not just because of the superb collection but also because of the architecture and sculpture garden. A must see if you’re visiting Copenhagen.
