Famous for the upside-down swirly cone chandelier (a nod to their insanely delicious buffalo milk soft serve), this is the more casual spot opened by sisters Rory and Meave McAuliffe, who grew up hanging around the kitchen of their mom’s Santa Monica bakery in the ’90s. Rory’s Place is next door for more of a sit-down dining experience, while Rory’s Other Place is more of a bakery and market, with a great lunch menu. I love the rice bowl with pork belly, and Eric loves the sandwiches. And do not leave without trying the velvety swirl!
