Museums of the Arroyo

I was literally born in a house museum so a love of small local museums pumps through my veins. The Lummis Home, which is only open a few days a week, and Heritage Square (the most underrated picnic spot!) are 2 of my faves. All 5 Museums of the Arroyo are free this Sunday (May 31, noon–4) for MOTA Day.

answering my own rec request because the STRAWBERRY MARG IS BACK AT HOMESTATE after a surprisingly short run in the summer of 2025 (rumored to be due to a supplier issue) This year’s isn’t quite as strawberry but it has that Homestate marg kick and is served with fresh strawberries on top. BYO straw!

I cannot believe I live in a world where soft serve margarita exists, and it's at Kulturas in Pasadena. It's creamy + cold + nothing like any other frozen drink I've ever had. They also do frozen margaritas in a bunch of flavors (and classic of course for u frozen haters). I don't make the rules but I do follow them straight to this swirl oh and the aguachile, birria tacos, and fresh guac all hit. service was slow but who cares in margaritaville....
