Have you ever walked into a market and it makes you smile as soon as you step into doors? This market does that for me. It also feels like a warm hug while I’m there. The vibe is unmatched. From the lady who gives me a fresh warm tortilla as soon as I walk in to the fresh ceviche being made for me to snack on while I catch the live music they have going on. It’s the best! Go! And don’t skip the ceviche stand, it will transport you to the coasts of Mexico.

My husband and I stay at this hotel each year.it is practically beachfront at Waikiki. It is the sister hotel of the Halekulani but half the price and 25 yards from the Pacific Ocean. I feel so relaxed when I am there and I look forward to the breakfast buffet at the Halekulani every day. I highly recommend it for the location, price and service.

Whenever I go home to Cebu, I immediately head up to the hills and stay here for a few days. It’s peaceful and relaxing. I fill the days lounging, swimming and hiking around the river while getting over my jet lag.

Summer in LA is not complete without watching a free show at Grand Performances. It runs from June to September and the city puts on free music concerts every Saturday in the middle of the great buildings downtown. I have been going for the last 25 years and I love the diversity of people that go there to listen to great music, dance,and picnic. It is such a beautiful representation of the real Los Angeles.
