There was a while there where #metoo books were trending and it was a real mixed bag. Benefiting both from the passage of time and from the author’s nuanced and layered writing, this book felt less like a response to the moment and more like a compelling exploration of unfortunately ubiquitous reality. (Caution that there are quite powerful descriptions of sexual harassment and assault.)
