More than anything, this movie will always remind me of my kids. The way children can turn a weird old house, a patch of trees or a rainy afternoon into an entire universe. The way they believe in things so completely before the world teaches them not to. Watching it gives me a glimpse back into that part of childhood where everything feels magical and mysterious. Itās such a cozy and peaceful movie as is everything by Studio Ghibli.

This movie kills me. The nonchalance of Jeanine Garafoloās character when she says, āThere are some campers stuck in the ropes course. I meant to tell you about that yesterday, but could you get to it now?ā and Amy Poehlerās character treating the talent show like itās Broadway āI feel like Iām watching regional theaterā. Hilarious.

My husband suggested we watch Nirvanna: the band, the show, the movie, to which I said, absolutely not, because that is exactly the kind of title that makes you think, absolutely not. But guess what? I loved it!! itās weird, chaotic, clever and charming. This image makes me laugh because what if my son thought this was a show about hockey and started watching it?! š³š Also, my friends make fun of me for how much I loved this show. If I could sum it up in a couple sentences Iād say: Two hot hockey players spend years insisting they hate each other with the kind of intense yearning that makes us all think, āsure, buddyā. Itās spicy but itās also SO heartwarming you gUySss!

Maybe Iām wrong but people talked about this movie during awards season a couple years ago (especially because it won an Oscar), but I feel like it never became part of any real cultural conversation in the way it deserved? Anyway, the title aināt lyin. Women do in fact talk but they also dismantle an entire moral universe while sitting in a barn, so maybe it should be talked about more!
