shimokitazawa!: a rly sick neighborhood in tokyo known for their second-hand / vintage culture. highly recommend if you are a fan of window shopping and unique storefronts!

Hands: Definitely not a boutique, but is absolutely TOP of my Japan shopping list. The Tokyo Shinjuku location is six stories of kitchenwares, luggage, office and art supplies, high-end gifts, hardware, and so much more, much of it Japanese-made. I adore Hands.

Kyushu Jangara Ramen: UNREAL ramen with multiple locations. we went back twice because it was just so good (even their vegetarian option!!!!) flavorful to the max, generous portions, reasonably priced. try to go for an early or late lunch because it gets pretty busy at peak lunch hour
