Visit Retrosaria Rosa Pomar when you go to Lisbon! It’s located in an area of town you’d miss if you’re only doing touristy stuff. Her yarns are made in Portugal from Portuguese sheep breeds, some endangered. It’s a really cute store, I bought so much yarn!

Visit Walnut when you’re in Tokyo! It’s the yarn store from Amirisu. They also carry Japanese yarns (think Daruma, not Noro), and other great yarn lines from around the world. It’s in a great location too!

When traveling, look up and visit a fancy yarn store (or two!). Not only do you get to support a local business, they’re often located in less touristy areas of town so you can see where real people live. Yarn store employees are also super friendly and have great recommendations for restaurants, cafes, or bars nearby. And of course you get a useful souvenir that will remind you of your trip when you knit with it and when you wear your FO!
