The Heart's Invisible Furies (John Boyne)

What’s your all-time favorite novel? I’m just looking for the GOAT; I’m tired of reading books that lots of people like but no one really loves.

Visit

This book captured my attention for days. I wanted to wake up early to read before my day started. I fell so far into the characters I could smell one of them smoking, and the description of her smoking made me want to start smoking, I’m not a smoker.

“Usually when I recommend a book to a friend and they ask what it’s about, I honestly can’t remember. I only remember how it made me feel. I remember how this book made me feel (human, humbled, at ease in my sadness). But I also remember some of the plot! I don’t know if this means it’s really good, but it is - really good. It’s long. You could save it for the late fall/winter.”
