I have been shamelessly taking #ootd style self-portraits since long before the hashtag even existed (2006, perhaps? Anyone here remember Wardrobe Remix?), and have amassed a prodigious visual diary. A treasure trove of memories for this semi-reformed fashion addict. I highly recommend starting one by taking a bathroom selfie whenever you think of it. Sometimes coming across an old conjures a memory of a beautiful meal or event from my past. Enclosed are a few oldies (feat. the now-iconic-to-some-of-us PRH blue tile).

At the ripe age of 41 I’m finally starting to accept myself in all of my “cringe.” Why are we told it’s best to reject and hate things? Loving things enthusiastically and with abandon should be a positive character trait not fodder for condescension and dismissal. Never let anyone criticize you for loving/liking too much. Ask your Barista to grind your coffee for you (shout out to Mike at Big Mouth)

We all know it’s best to purchase whole bean coffee, but I have always been hung up on the (very loud) task of grinding beans at home (especially when I’ve just woken up and especially once I had a baby and was terrified of waking him up). Big Mouth roasts my fave medium roast for home, and since I live around the corner from their cafe I realized I could ask them to grind it for me…and specifically for drip so I get the right grind. Odds are you can request this most places you buy beans.
