“a Mexican take on bagels with cream cheese and lox. The addictive caramelized fish sauce vinaigrette brightens every bite.“ Trust me, these are so crazy good

Six Seasons by Joshua McFadden
•••
This book is split into Spring, Early Summer, Midsummer, Late Summer, Fall, and Winter and each section highlights vegetables that are in season at that time with the best recipes for them. We looove cooking from it and could not recommend more highly.

Dinner
farmers market veggies in a fritatta with side salad
•••
A favorite weekly summer ritual: go to the farmers market the morning it’s offered in your town, and whatever veggies you bring home, use some of them in a frittata that night for dinner with a simple salad on the side (something like arugula, parm, nuts/seeds, a simple diy dressing). It’s cozy and fills you up but not heavy, uses tons of seasonal veggies, nice for the mind to have a familiar recipe you kind of come to memorize - although it’s always different week to week. It just checks all the boxes for me.

NYT lemony shrimp and bean stew
•••
This is a top 5 recipe in for our whole family. Could easily be made with extra beans and no shrimp. The toasted sourdough is a must.

salmon en papillote!

Even very young my kids loved packing the individual servings for this. And fun to have a dinner that you unwrap?! As they get older they’ve been helping with chopping and zesting. We always did a Gwyneth Paltrow recipe with salmon, thinly sliced fennel, shallot, lemon zest and sliced lemon, capers, olive oil, salt and pepper. This Bon Appetit version looks great too!
