I loved this drama so much. Our female lead is born a slave, but a tragedy that unexpectedly turns into an opportunity gives her a chance to pretend to be a noblewoman. What she chooses to do with that opportunity becomes the heart of the story.
Don’t go into this expecting the usual historical drama tropes. This is really a story about fighting for the rights of people who are treated as less than human, and about a woman recognizing the privilege she has been given and choosing to use it to make a difference.
The most interesting part is watching everything unfold once her true identity as a slave is discovered—and seeing what she does when the life she has built is suddenly at risk.
There’s very little romance, but honestly, you don’t miss it. The story, the characters, and the questions it raises are more than enough to keep you invested.
