It's suddenly 80 degrees in New York this week and I need a pair of slides or flats I can leave by the door and slip into easily at 9 pm when I need to give the dog one last walk before bed.

Mary Kathryn Paynter · Answer

Camper Right Isla Black Leather Sandals: The back being elastic is clutch, incredibly easy to slide on but super durable/comfortable and they stay put.

Black Rainbow Narrow Straps: I wore these through college and my 20s, alternating between varying heights, strap widths, and shades of tan. Now, in 2026, I’ve come back to the reliable Rainbows. Thin straps remain a favorite while black adds just a touch of sophistication. Go for the double layer if you want a bit more personality and don’t mind a little extra flop with your flip.

VIBAe - Sustainable and Comfortable Footwear: In response to slide request! My sisters make so much fun of me for wearing these orthopedic Finnish slides but jokes on them because you can walk for miles in these things. They are supportive, comfortable 9pm dog walking shoes but you can also wear them for a full day on set or with a shapeless sack and look cool and avant- garde.
