Do you love a snug? Warmth? Softness, especially around the ears? Would you enjoy a real, life teddy bear that is the same size as you, or larger? Do you appreciate sweet little beady eyes looking up at you with so much love, you can barely deny whatever he is silently asking for? Does a 160 lb heated and weighted blanket sound lovely for 10 min at a time before the he goes and finds a cooler spot? Could you handle being so loved that your giant buddy wants to calmly be in your vicinity at all times, and if you walk away they’ll point their head in the direction you left until you come back into view? If you appreciate 160 lbs of gentle, giant, calm sweetness, then you’ll LOVE a Leonberger. We sure as hell do.

If you’re lucky enough to find a long haired black lab, you’ll see, the sweetest dogs ever; a dog to go hiking with, not so much. Or maybe that’s just our Furry Murray?

My husband’s coworker’s sister-in-law’s German Shepherd got knocked up by the Lab next door and we got our girl! I’m biased obvs, but she’s the smartest, cuddliest, and bravest dog I’ve ever met. Highly recommend you say yes when a friend of a friend of a friend asks you if you want a puppy :’)

Our dog Pilot is a sweetheart - equal parts comedian and teddy bear. A brilliant mastermind at scheming treats, with those strong (ie stubborn) terrier opinions and occasional schnauzer-y yodeling, she rules the house but we don’t mind.
