Before everyone carried a camera in their pocket, Melissa Auf der Maur carried one on tour.
During her years playing bass with Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins, Auf der Maur documented life on the road with 35mm film, building an archive of more than 10,000 photographs. More than 200 of those images now appear in her book, My ’90s Rock Photographs.
On October 20, she joins Shirley Manson of Garbage at LACMA to talk about the book, her years on the road, and what it meant to document that period of music from inside it. A book signing follows the conversation.
