A 1931 Silver Lake church begins its next chapter as Hotel Lucile, a 25-room hotel shaped around the building’s original architecture. Stained glass, vaulted spaces and the former choir loft remain part of the experience, with contemporary interiors by Electric Bowery bringing a new layer to the landmark.
The former sanctuary is now Sous Sous, a restaurant drawing connections between the South of France and the American South. Seafood, market vegetables and a changing raw bar are served beneath the church’s soaring ceiling and stained glass, giving us a particularly good reason to see what has become of this familiar Silver Lake building.
