Barry McGee: Another Round — Jeffrey Deitch

Barry McGee returns to Jeffrey Deitch for his first solo exhibition with the gallery in more than twenty years. For Another Round, McGee has been given the keys to Deitch’s Santa Monica Boulevard space, the former RCA Victor West Coast recording studio, where he plans to work in the gallery and invite artist friends to collaborate.

It feels particularly suited to McGee, whose work has always moved freely between drawing, painting, tagging, assemblage and the culture surrounding the street. The exhibition opens October 30 and continues through January, with the gallery promising the energy of Los Angeles underground culture to become part of the show itself.
