Lotion Addicts and Lobster Skin folks, gather round.
It's not enough to hydrate our hands and fingers. We need to keep our mitts' moisture barriers loaded and locked. (Yeah, in that order.)
Th Hand Wrap formula is insane -- it's like wearing the thinnest invisible gloves. Dr Ellis's Hand Wrap Cream is formulated with film-forming ingredients to create an occlusive shield that dries down matte instead of sticky (the anti-vaseline occlusion?), protecting skin from repeat barrier disruptors, like hot water, hard water, and the surfactants found in soaps. Unfortunately, while washing away the bad stuff, water and soap also take the good stuff in our skin's barrier. Over time, and during especially vulnerable seasons like winter, this can chew up our hands in all kinds of ways: peeling around the fingers, itchy dry patches, even cracked and broken skin.
If that sounds familiar, this shielding lotion is a must.
First - you need to hydrate your hands and fingers. If your hands are dry, you're not doing jack squat for the barrier. This could mean a hydrating lotion, oil, or if you're like me, all the skincare products you put on your face are also rubbed into your hands.
Once hands are juicy, apply an adequate amount of the Hand Wrap Lotion, making sure everything is evenly coated -- then STOP!
Don't rub it in. Let the lotion dry down on its own. Once dry, your hands are shielded like the Enterprise chilling in its force field. If you keep rubbing, the film-formers break up and peel. You're going to have a gritty mess on your hands. Literally, Barb-er-ah. Ask me how I know this.
No influence, just experience, remember?
And that's it! Go about your day. Enjoy the feeling of not having to run to the nearest lotion bottle right after washing your hands!
