magical swedish dishcloths

we had a house guest this year who asked where my "wiping cloths" were as we were cleaning the kitchen together. i responded that i had always just cleaned the counters with paper towels, because a boss i had in my 20s told me it was the only hygienic way to clean. i had never really questioned this until our house guest looked at me aghast.

after that incident, i did a little research and discovered "swedish dishcloths". these things are MAGIC. they're almost like reusable paper towels, and i throw mine in the top rack of the dishwasher if they get even a tiny bit stinky.
