Fun and easy hack to make this paper lantern look more authentic:
Supplies:
the GULLSUDARE lamp (Buy two. Because here's the thing, they're thin and tear easily, and it's nice to have a backup! ...I bought 3)
A spray bottle
Funnel (optional, but so helpful)
Black tea bags
A tea kettle
Paper towels
Brew some black tea and steep it for longer than it needs to, until the water is quite dark. I did about 10min.
Let the tea cool.
Pour the tea into your spray bottle (a funnel helps!).
Open your lantern and set it up on the wire frame it comes with.
Spray the tea evenly over the lantern, dabbing any drips gently with your paper towels (to avoid spotting)
Allow the lantern to dry; you'll notice it droops and sags a bit, and may hang heavier so that the wire frame isn't touching the bottom. That's ok! It'll go back once it dries.
Repeat steps 5-6 two to three more times, until the lantern is the desired warm white tone you like.
Add battery powered twinkly lights if you're not going to wire it electrically, or buy this to have it wired.
Pretend you're in Japan or Leeanne Ford's house and enjoy!
