This is a new habit, and I swear I picked this up from another rec on Rec League that I made my own.
Every Saturday, I book a study room at the library where I work through household management and personal inventory. I find leaving the house really helps.
I start by looking over my past week, and then I move over any unfinished business to the top of my planner for the following week (birthdays, gym classes, personal appointments, meal planning, grocery lists, medication pick-up, etc.).
Then, I review my past week’s spending and pay any upcoming bills.
Finally, I do a little personal inventory: how have I been feeling, what part am I playing in my relationships, what in my future am I working towards, am I having enough fun, am I prioritizing my needs, etc.
If I have time left over, I work on a personal project such as journaling, meditation, creative writing, making playlists, etc. Then, I usually check-out a book and either take care of one item on my to do list I ignored last week or I treat myself to a pedicure, a matcha, flowers, etc.
As for medical appointments, I handle all my general check-ups during one month each year (optometrist, dentist, gynecologist, cardiologist, etc.) typically January/February. It’s annoying, but it starts eating away at my deductible right away, and it ensures that I can handle any personal health crisis right away as most folks go to the doctor at the end of their year when they’ve earned out their deductible, so it’s particularly easy to get a follow-up appointment.
