Macedonian folklore inspired skirt

A skirt designed and hand made by a local designer in my hometown.

The red section is part of traditional Macedonian costume worn in the 1900s by our grandmas. It’s handmade from red wool.

I see designer continually take inspiration from the periods in the past, why can’t we do the same?

I’m curious, would someone wear this casually in London or New York?
