My twin sister and I were raised by a badass, eccentric, and painfully sweet mom. Miss Judy Allen. A single mom who has given us the world.
We are survivors. Turned thrivers. When I visit her, she puts together little “goody piles” of things she’s picked up at the small town thrifts or has had stored away for decades to give to my sister and I. I feel so loved and seen when she hand selects pens, jewelry, dishes, scarves, books, and other random odds and ends that she thinks I will really like.
This is one of my favorite feelings in the world. I want my heart to feel this way forever.
