Cowichan sweaters

After going down the rabbit hole of Ryan Gosling’s Hail Mary fox sweater, I learned that it’s inspired by the style and design of Cowichan sweaters, knitted by the Indigenous Cowichan tribe on Vancouver Island. You can find authentic Cowichan sweaters that support the tribe at Cheryl’s Trading Post (beware imposters with other online shopping - the Hail Mary sweater is not a Cowichan, but an inspired pattern by Mary Maxim, which you can also still buy)
