An American in Paris - The Dream Ballet

Gene Kelly’s 18 minute masterpiece at the end of “An American in Paris” is a thrilling watch every time. Vincente Minnelli directed the sequence to perfection (the fountain scene? Oh my god!!), the costumes are breathtaking, and Leslie Caron, in her debut film, is a total revelation. While all of the numbers in this movie are perfect, this one takes the cake.
