I remember the day I stopped using body lotion after the shower. On that day, I made a decision that would save me thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours, be better for my health, and affect my skin – surprise! – not at all.
Eliminating an entire category from your beauty routine saves so much money and time. Body lotion/cream/oil takes forever to apply; it is expensive; and you use so damn much. It’s the most annoying thing to pack. Plus, the ingredients get into your bloodstream in serious quantities, since you are applying it to all your skin every day.
I have normal-to-dry skin and yes, I felt a bit drier for the first week after quitting. (Don’t quit in the winter if you have very dry skin!) —-BUT then my skin recalibrated and became soft and silky on its own, and so will yours. 10/10 would do it again.
BONUS: Skip lip balm too. You’ll get many of the same perks. After a week or two, your lips will be naturally soft
