I did this (sort of - negotiated Friday afternoons off) and can confirm it’s a game changer in terms of my personal contentment. Things I’ve done with that time include a farmers market grocery shop, a manicure, lunch with a friend and hanging out with my daughter after school (non/neg). That few hours of personal time each week is life changing.

Yes! This is it! There are so many ways of framing work as a way to buy back your time. I love this. A half day is such a win, and no one wants to be working on Friday afternoon!

I was able to do this for a few years and it was such a game changer! Sadly I had to go back to full time but in those few years my anxiety around work significantly decreased and I felt much more relaxed and content to go back to work on Monday. Even now that I’m full time I try to make Fridays a meeting free day at work as much as possible and I save lighter projects for that day. I work from home and have flexibility so I also try to knock off early :)

SAME HERE- I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU! Returned part time after my maternity leave 3.5 years ago. I hope to stay this way even when kindergarten starts. Nothing is more important than your mental health! 🩵🙏🏼
