The Remains of the Day - book/movie double header
Recommended by Sarah BeckRead the Booker prize winning Kazuo Ishiguro novel (emotionally repressed butler, what makes a moral life, longing, regret!) and then watch the excellent movie adaptation - Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson, Christopher reeve, Hugh grant (this cast!). Both formats made better by experiencing the other.

@sarahbeck thanks for this! I loved the book enough to read it twice, but did not know that a movie was made.
