skinny jeans & emo sadbois. they're never meant to last.
my brain groups Alkaline Trio with bands like AFI, Thrice, My Chemical Romance. real skinnyjeanboi angst shit. might avoid yo girl or yo man. cause love is difficult for some reason.
remember playing this in high school + college and just blowing through all of it. holes in pants. hair pull'd aside. so much angst. and then having a unrelenting hatred for the specific purple that american apparel used in their hoodies.
the Future and drinks had not yet claimed purple as their own so the color ran saturated & filthy in the hands of youth fashion.
they were a plague purple dotting the scene at Warped Tour.
in the summer. with elastic not~so~breathable pants. sometimes in rainbows or vans. ruining what could have been the blackest dressed crowd in Southern California since Limp Bizkit came to Tillys.
then, they started showing up at indie shows and raves. in deep v necks. with the same fake contacts, and i knew my times in these scenes was done. that was around when Burger Records and UK dub + electronic was poppin' and youth did too much molly.
rip all those lost to rave brain. i'm sure a real home misses you somewhere.
these were worn originally ~ at times in deep spite ~ by a few of my friends. one of them got me back at their wedding by making my bridesman color that shade of purple. my reaction, mild bridle. and more proof no one looks good in that color that they'll cherish forevs.
does the suffering of the mens emo movement have no end?
only those who task themself with marriage can answer that.
and dont mess around with emo's. even when they tie the knot they find a way to mess with you.

distorted guitars. driving drumming. catchy pithy verses + chorus. ya know, pop punk.
typeface on the cover is Runic MT Condensed. was curious bout that.
