S&P lunch pastrami sandwich

I have a full day alone in NYC this week. How would you spend it?

If you’re up for a real old school New York (but deliciously and thoughtfully prepared) pastrami on rye sandwich at the counter, this can’t be topped. It is not, however, a salad — which I realize may be the better choice.

“S&P is a classic New York City luncheonette from the Court Street Grocers team, housed in the former Eisenberg’s Sandwich Shop and retaining much of its original character. The menu is exactly what you’d hope to find in a place like this: pancakes, tuna melts, grilled cheeses, patty melts, and other staples. It’s fabulous.”

“this is my fav restaurant and this is the perfect lunch order: tuna melt, side of pastrami, hand mixed diet coke no fkn notes. honestly everything here is good tho. I also love the pancakes and I’m desperately trying to have a banana split here soon.”
