Metropolitan Opera: Go for a walk through Central Park and then have pasta at the bar at Lincoln Ristorante first! There's nothing like watching the Lobmeyr chandeliers dim and ascend towards the ceiling before the start of a performance. Make sure to pre-order a glass of champagne for intermission :)

Té Company in the West Village: This is my favorite tearoom in the city. Simply delicious Taiwanese teas, superb pastries, the kindest staff, and incredible environs to spend an hour or so solo or with a friend. I’ve only been to the original West Village location, but can’t recommend it enough. Always top of my to-do list when I’m back in NYC. Three Lives across the street is an awesome place to check out, while you’re at it.

S&P lunch pastrami sandwich: If you’re up for a real old school New York (but deliciously and thoughtfully prepared) pastrami on rye sandwich at the counter, this can’t be topped. It is not, however, a salad — which I realize may be the better choice.

A solo fall day in NYC: I live here but if I didn’t perhaps I’d watch You’ve Got Mail on the way here (nostalgic fall in nyc vibes), maybe start the day on the upper west side with brunch, walk through Central Park, stop to people watch at Skater’s Circle (Saturday and Sunday afternoons), make it through to the east side of the park and sit at Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle Hotel (piano & jazz starts by 5:30), eat ramen in a solo booth at Ichiran, then see a movie and stroll downtown! ❤️

You’ll be at the film center in Lincoln Center, so afterwards you can grab a sauv blanc at Cafe Luxembourg and some fries, and then take 70th to Central Park for a walk through the lake at Strawberry Fields.
