I've had this book on my bookshelf for a few years and finally decided to give it a read. It is pretty slow at the beginning, but it really picks up. It is a murder mystery of sorts, except you are told who the murderer is at the beginning of the novel and get to see how it all unfolds.
The book touches on many themes, including identity and history's consequences on modern society. The story is far-reaching and follows an ensemble cast that always comes back to the cafe. The multiple narratives confluence throughout the novel in very satisfying ways. It is definitely a book that rewards close reading. Check it out!
