EPFL Living Archives

Archives are complicated, and publishing student work especially so! Archives don't own the copyright to the materials in their collections, and require explicit, individual permission from the students. Additionally, institutions are subject to privacy laws (different in each jurisdiction) about what they can and cannot disclose. If there's a chance they might accidentally disclose something they're not supposed to (grades, names, etc.; a whole bunch of stuff you wouldn't expect is covered under that), the work stays closed unless it's specifically requested (source: my partner is a university archivist and I'm an MI candidate).
