Iconic 1983 modern dance piece from Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. Such simple movements that carry so much emotion. The breathing, the rhythm, the way the dancers synch and un-synch. Oof, I could watch this for hours!

And there’s some fun additional context: the music video for Beyoncé’s “Countdown” drew a little too heavily from this piece without giving proper credit, leading de Keersmaeker to invite anyone and everyone to make (or “remix”) their own versions in a project called Re:Rosas years before TikTok even existed. Thousands of people made videos (yours truly included!), and they revived the project again during the pandemic. You can watch some of those here and maybe even make your own!
