I switched to using an iPod (innioasis Y1 since it was cheap, modern, and my nano no longer worked) and it has drastically improved my listening experience. You only listen to what you want, no algorithms, so everything moment and song feels intentional!

Do you need downloaded music to be able to do this?

You will need a downloaded collection of music. If you don’t have one started, a library is a great place to start getting CDs, or they even offer digital downloads many times!
