The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock (T. S. Eliot)

“Prufrock” provided a profound opening to what became my deep appreciation and enjoyment of the wealth of Modernist poetry and literature. My readings and research of Eliot’s literary efforts only strengthened and solidified my respect for him as one of the greats who ushered in the Modernist Age of literature. One of my siblings posited that Pound wrote “Prufrock” as well as several other poems attributed to Eliot. Pound authored either all of Eliot’s eorks—or none. I posit None.

If you have a dog—or two!—take them for a good walk in your neighborhood just after sunrise. Moving one’s body in the early dawn quiet, sharing a smile and nod with a passing neighbor, and taking in the waking sounds of nature and soft golden light feeds my mind and soul.
