Potted plants!: I've never lived anywhere without at least four pothos plants going — they are very easy to propagate, and they adapt to literally any light and very little water. Their leaves range from a dark, glossy green to a pale chartreause, and sometimes they even get beautiful marbling. A trailing pothos on a bookshelf or any lonely, plain little corner instantly feels homey.

Lean into Vibes and Woowoo: get things that give your space that lived-in vibe like big plants, wooden furniture, big and small lamps, large framed art, framed personal photos, throw pillows, cozy couch blankets, etc etc.

decorating can get expensive really quick but if you go the FB marketplace, poshmark, etsy, or thrift store route it can be more affordable. there are also second hand stores in and around los angeles that sell stuff from film sets.

also, this is so woowoo but invite folks over to your home for drinks and snacks or dinner parties. creating memories together can give a new space that homey feel!

Haus of Hands pillow: Hands down, my favorite purchase of all time. Is she practical? No. Is she the entire length of my couch? Yes. She adds so much personality to my home and is a great conversation starter. I mean, look at her jewelry and nails!!
