famesick (specifically the audiobook)
I almost never listen to my books but come on. A memoir. By Lena Dunham. Read in her actual own voice? It’s a no brainer. With all these years of retrospect I am firmly convinced that she is the voice of her/my generation. It’s all that much more magical that she wrote that line before we really knew how true it would be. Also, I listened to this while walking around Paris on a springtime solo vacation and if you can replicate that experience I recommend it as highly as possible.

Famesick: A Memoir
Good Thing Going by Lena Dunham
“A Famesick velvet Mary Jane (fortune favors the bold, since hot pink piping knocks 40 euros off.)”
Amalia
“this book has me all the way fucked up and somehow looking at my sick/drug using mother with a softer gaze than i have in decades. i’m so grateful that lena has been here to reflect so many experiences through my shithead twenties and into my migraineur late 30s. side note… get your audiobooks from libro.fm cause they aren’t evil and you’re buying your books from real stores. fuck audible!”
Julianna Strickland
“I really, really, really loved this. Lena is an exquisite writer.”
