Diavola by Jennifer Thorne

I love a good Gothic novel, and this one is perfect for that time between summer and fall. It's also nice to sink your teeth into a more modern Gothic story. Don't let the unsettling cover image fool you -- while this book has its creepy moments, it's also very funny, focusing on our protagonist Anna and her relentlessly annoying family as they vacation in Italy, staying in a house that has a decidedly dark past. Think of it like White Lotus meets The Haunting of Hill House.
