Any lighting ideas or recs for someone who wants to stop using overhead lighting?

Question

Pillar lamp: Has a dimmer that goes from basically dark to super bright. We put these all over. They start on around 6pm and we slowly turn the lights down little by little as we near bedtime. I love the range of light and these are generally simple - beautiful if you care but also subtle to not steal the show.

Bauhaus Mushroom Modern Table Lamp: I despise the overhead light and I am a sucker for retro inspired lamps. AliExpress is great for Noguchi dupes and bauhaus inspired pieces (a lot of “specialty” lighting shops dropship from them and charge 3x the price). You can often find some of the same items on Amazon for slightly more expensive but I guess returns would probably be easier through them.

JDJ · Answer

Jessie · Answer

Thrift Store Lamps: The thrift store is littered with lamps. Save some moolah and get a cool, sometimes one-of-a-kind light source. (The link is for Etsy, but I highly recommend going to your local Goodwill or thrift store.)

Karen · Answer

Oasis Lights: Good lighting. I fell for these off IG and now they are in every room of our house. When I open the door to a cozy environment I instantly relax. If these aren’t in your budget - any lamp with the right type of ambient warm glow. That is always what makes any house a home if the lighting is right.
