Requests from Monique

If you were buying yourself a housewarming present to mark the milestone of your first home, what would it be? ✨ Looking for beautiful, unusual things with a ~$200 budget

Any recs for fun queer films that don’t end in tragedy? Things like The Birdcage, To Wong Foo, etc. I know they’re out there but need some help finding them, could be comedies, dramas, docs, just anything where the characters all live to see the end of the movie!

Hit me with your ultimate 70s (inspired!) star child champagne disco bangers! Times are timing! Grooving as escapism! We’re talkin old school Bee Gee’s & ABBA, euro disco club hits, deep cuts, popular tracks & that one song you fkin love that just makes you move, I want it all. Who are you into?

Hit me with your fav 80s(ish) synth rock/new wave bangers. We’re talkin bops from artists like INXS, Duran Duran, B-52s, The Cure, Annie Lennox, etc etc, what do you love?

I’m doing some solo travel for the first time in years & am looking for recs in the NC mountains to visit for 2-3 days. I frequent Asheville, Boone, & Blowing Rock, but am looking to expand my horizons. I love a cute small town, anywhere with views & if there’s water nearby I think that would solve most of life’s problems. What are your fav hidden gems?

What are your fav weekend cooking projects?

What are your home bar must-haves you think I should know about? I’m a gin & amaro fan with a high life budget. Help me get a list of the good stuff. Bonus points for anything weird & unique. ✨ Bonus bonus points if you give me a cocktail to try that uses your rec ✨
