Why do I recommend this? Well, I’m not a sadist. Six dinghies with a pizza flag drive around this anchorage at Île Sainte-Marguerite, taking your order back to their gigantic catamaran where fresh hot pizzas are made to order.
Naturally, we drank all of our Prosecco swimming in the phosphorescence until two am the night before and were pleasantly surprised to be met by a champagne and carb delivery service.
This wasn’t the only delivery service in the channel: burgers, mojitos or ice cream were also available from other boats. You can hail them with a waive, a radio or phone call.
For this luxury you’ll pay a premium and not only monetarily; this place is crowded, and for good reason. The crystal clear blue water and shallow sandy bottom make for easy anchoring and lovely swimming/snorkeling. With so many boats we had a few near misses with vessel operators whose attention resided elsewhere than where their motor craft was headed. Couple that with strong currents makes this location one for experienced boat handlers with low cortisol levels. The amount of shenanigans did make for top tier people watching and I was thankful for my husbands calm demeanor and 20+ years of experience as a professional captain.
