Looking for a non-basic but still serious and ~nice~ work bag that can fit a laptop and files. Ideally can also fully close at the top 🙌 Ideally want a different aesthetic than the Cuyana leather tote/Mansur Gavriel minimalism

Day Owl Slim Pro Backpack

Before I switched to a tote bag, this was my everyday backpack. I was actually one of the first few hundred people to buy from the brand when they launched, and I’ve been using it ever since. What I love most is how simple and lightweight it is. Even when I’m carrying a full load, the bag doesn’t feel unnecessarily heavy or bulky. They make it in different sizes, and I went with the 13-inch since I use a smaller MacBook. It has just the right amount of organization without turning into a bag full of unnecessary compartments. My favorite feature is the dedicated water bottle pocket, which is surprisingly useful. A simple, well-designed backpack that I’d definitely recommend.

My everyday tote bag for everywhere

I stopped using a backpack about two years ago, but I still wanted a tote that was subtle enough for everyday carry and polished enough to bring to the office or meetings. I ended up going with the Porter Yoshida Lift because it’s small, lightweight, and practical for New England weather—it’s rain-resistant and can handle a bit of snow. It has enough compartments to keep everything organized, and I can carry it by hand or comfortably over my shoulder. The only thing I’m looking for now is a creative strap option so I can switch it up and wear it more like a messenger bag when I want to.
