I stopped using a backpack about two years ago, but I still wanted a tote that was subtle enough for everyday carry and polished enough to bring to the office or meetings. I ended up going with the Porter Yoshida Lift because it’s small, lightweight, and practical for New England weather—it’s rain-resistant and can handle a bit of snow.
It has enough compartments to keep everything organized, and I can carry it by hand or comfortably over my shoulder. The only thing I’m looking for now is a creative strap option so I can switch it up and wear it more like a messenger bag when I want to.
