Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi

This novel covers centuries, bouncing between different perspectives. Normally, I don't love books that jump between narrators, and on the surface, the structure of this book shouldn't work, but it does, and it is breathtaking. It is also one of the best illustrations of generational trauma I've ever read, and its beauty and hope have stayed with me for years.
