Something about classical music tends to incorporate a much wider array of emotions for me. No vocals means you don’t have to pay much attention. When your mind is too tired, it’s easy to background and not pay attention to it, and when the energy of the music matches what you need, it’s easy to let your mind be carried by it. For me, it’s an auditory reminder of the wider spectrum of emotions that can be hard to access when I’m feeling really low.
My personal go to’s are:
Frederic Chopin 24 Preludes played on piano by Nikolai Lugansky (linked)
Claude Debussy (I don’t have a favorite but this one seems excellent)
Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake (this one is orchestral instead of piano)
