“Yes at $3 a pop this is an expensive pencil. But Blackwings have been the premier writing tool of choice for people like John Steinbeck and Chuck Jones. There is nothing that writes quite as smoothly or dark as a Blackwing. I prefer the 602 for their slightly longer hold on sharper edges. Plus the flanged eraser holder keeps it from rolling away.”
