I’m doing some solo travel for the first time in years & am looking for recs in the NC mountains to visit for 2-3 days. I frequent Asheville, Boone, & Blowing Rock, but am looking to expand my horizons. I love a cute small town, anywhere with views & if there’s water nearby I think that would solve most of life’s problems. What are your fav hidden gems?

Tad pricey but the produce is top notch (the peaches!). Their baked goods and BBQ are also wonderful, best enjoyed with a Cheerwine in a glass bottle. Plus, the owners’ golden retrievers are always snoozing on the porch waiting for pets. 🥹

I also recommend a hike to Cullowhee Falls under the dam at Lake Glenville.

would travel there again
