ER (1994-2009)

Absolutely incredible television, especially seasons 1-8.

There are some times when they miss the mark, but I'd say mostly, ER is dramatic without being silly, funny without being insensitive, emotional without being overwrought. It has Great character work/growth in some really intense and moving medical situations.
